Build a Business and Invest the Profits
I am a strong believer in reinvesting your profits to meet your business goals and your own personal financial goals. I heard this years ago from one of my mentors, Ryan Daniel Moran, and it’s made a huge difference in my portfolio. Of course, it’s super important to do your own research when it comes to investing but here’s what’s worked for me and my family.
Create Financial Freedom
As women entrepreneurs we work really hard and sometimes we forget that ultimately the purpose of all this work is to create more freedom so we can live the extraordinary life we want. The way to create more freedom is to create financial freedom. The way to create more financial freedom is through investing the profits from our business.
As I said, I am no expert in investing and in fact, honestly, I started way too late in investing. This lateness was mostly because of me having the wrong mindset. I told myself (or thought it subconsciously): I’m not interested in investment info, that’s not my thing, I’m not a finance person and all the crap that we women tell ourselves even though we know none of it is actually true. It’s just mindset, society, and beliefs.
Once I recognized these blocks, I educated myself and worked to overcome my mindset. Now my husband and I are serious about investing and we’ve chosen more than just stocks, bonds or mutual funds! We’ve moved into real estate and I have to thank my Mom for that. She is a real estate investor and owns seven to eight apartments right now which inspired us to do the same. We now own several properties that we rent out at a profit. Of course, this requires management and a large upfront investment but you can fit it into your mix if you find the right team.
Another way to invest in the real estate market without actually owning property is to use real estate syndication. Like mutual funds, investors pool their money which is then managed by someone who chooses which real estate investments to go into.
We also have invested in physical gold and silver where we literally own physical gold and silver which is in a safety deposit box. And recently we’ve invested in cryptocurrency, NFTs and even in a piece of NFT art. All these things combined have given us a pretty diversified portfolio with ways to expand and grow.
I would encourage you to open your mind to the many avenues for investment and pick at least one! Don’t wait any longer on the sidelines to invest your hard-earned money. This will help you build your business and live a life of financial freedom.
